I remember one fun fad from "back in the day" was the smiley face that said,
"Smile, God Loves You!"
The sad part of that is that it was a fad.
The older I get and the more people I meet, I have become aware of something.
People don't really believe that God loves them!
Sure we say that He loves us, but deep down inside we doubt it.
There are a slew of reasons; the tragedies of life, our past mistakes, abuse, rejection, the fact that we don't even love ourselves.
The fact is, we are bombarded everyday by reasons to believe that
God really doesn't care about us.
But I beg to differ!
In 1John 4:8, we read, "Whoever does not love, does not know God because
GOD IS LOVE."
Who can possibly love you more than the author and creator of love...love itself!
In Romans 8:39, Paul reminds us, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither the height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord."
If you struggle with believing God loves you all the time with an unwavering love, then you are not enjoying the life Christ died for you to have, an abundant, Spirit-filled life.
The love of God does not come with conditions or strings attached. There will be times when you disappoint your Heavenly Father, there will be times when He must chasten you.
But there will never be a time when He loves you any less.
When you receive Christ as your Savior, you become a child of God. As an adopted son or daughter of Jehovah, there is nothing you can do to lose His love.
Don't go another minute believing the lie that God does not love you!
He already proved His love
on Calvary.
